Class of 2023

Sofia Perri
Hometown: San Diego, SA
School of Kinesiology
Sport Management

Sofia is involved in Phi Epsilon Kappa, a professional kinesiology fraternity, Sport Business Association, Michigan Women Empowerment in Sport and Entertainment (MWESE). Her favorite part about going to Michigan is exploring Ann Arbor and taking classes that are actually interesting to me.

Kristina Rogers
Hometown: Grosse Pointe Park, MI
Stamps School of Art & Design
Art & Design Major

Hello! I’m studying Art & Design with minors in geology and German. I’m also a graphic designer for The Every Three Weekly, Michigan’s funniest newspaper publication.

Emma Susin
Hometown: Naperville, Illinois
School of Nursing

Emma is a member of LGBT+ Michigan, and Student Nurses’ Association. She also volunteers at the birth center of Von Voigtlander Women’s Hospital through the Dial-a-Doula program. In her free time she likes to run, spend time with friends, and look at pets that she wishes she could adopt on humane society websites. On Friday evenings, she can almost certainly be found at Markley Dining.

Marissa Ghannam
Hometown: Lansing, MI
School of Nursing
Minor: Spanish

Marissa is part of the Student Nurses Association and is currently trying to teach herself how to exercise like a normal person. In her free time she enjoys reading, watching Netflix, and bullet journaling. She gets very excited about the smallest things, especially walking to Starbucks in the morning when she has the will to get out of bed. She also will talk for hours about Post Malone and the packages she gets in the mail.

Emma Roggenbuck
Hometown: Sandusky, MI
College of Literature, Science, and the Arts
Molecular Biology

Emma is a part of the Michigan Basketball Band and the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP). At the lab, she researches the DNA of various Great Lakes fish species. She is from the very small town of Sandusky, Michigan — not Ohio. Instead of Cedar Point, Sandusky, MI is home to a Walmart, three stop-lights, and lots of cows. In her free time, Emma enjoys music, theater, and planning trips she will never take.

Hope Kurtz
Hometown: Traverse City, MI
College of Literature, Science, and the Arts

Hope is a participant of K-Grams and an active member of St. Mary’s Student Parish and Students for Life. In her free time, she enjoys reading cheesy science fiction and fantasy novels, as well as obsessing over cats and fictional characters. She would like to think that her greatest talent is knowing how to ride a unicycle. She also loves to talk about her family at any given opportunity.

Claire McDermott
Hometown: Chicago, IL
College of Engineering
Computer Science and Engineering Physics

Claire is a member of the Society of Physics Students, Gamma Phi Beta sorority and an incredible IM volleyball team. She loves Michigan football (and all college sports), trying out coffee shops around Ann Arbor, and taking free samples from Cherry Republic. She’s from Chicago and won’t let you forget it.

Madeleine Lee
Hometown: Ann Arbor, MI
College of Literature, Science, and the Arts / Undecided

Madeleine enjoys being a part of optiMize and Central Student Government on campus. She also conducts research on retinal degeneration at the Kellogg Eye Center. In her free time, she likes to run, listen to podcasts (Hidden Brain is currently her favorite), and watch Disney Channel Original Movies.
