Daniel Khain

The founder of the Michigan Classical Guitar Ensemble and past Michigan Pops Orchestra percussionist, Daniel continues to bring music into his college life by attending classical music concerts at the University Musical Society. His native language is Russian, having been born to Russian-Jewish parents in Israel. He is also fluent in Spanish and Hebrew.


Gabi Mechaber

On campus Gabi is involved in SHEI Magazine, MPowered Entrepreneurship, and Sigma Eta Pi, an entrepreneurship fraternity. In her free time she enjoys reading and endlessly watching youtube videos.

Jake Horcher

Jake can quote most vines and knows a lot of rap lyrics which is why he is widely considered to be “pretty dope”. He is a member of Theta Tau- Professional Engineering Frat, Baja SAE Project Team, Intramural Walleyball/ Flag Football, which is why we all call him “the Top Dog”.

Joey Imperial

Outside of classes, Joey likes hiking, music, deep talks and learning about other people. On campus, he is involved with BLUElab, Swing Dance, IM Ultimate Frisbee, and sharing stories about his several jobs, mission trips, travelling, college etc. He is always open to questions and conversations!

Lauren is a member of Groove, the university’s performance percussion group. In her free time, she practices photography and watches the Food Network.

Mary spends almost all her time on North Campus, and is rarely seen by other Shipmen. She is a virtuoso in sarcasm and dry humor, for which she is loved. Her passions include pasta and hedgehogs.

Moi is part of La Casa, K-Grams, Caribbean Student Association, and the Kinesiology Diversity and Inclusion Network here on campus. He loves spending his free time eating, watching sports, and hanging with friends. He loves everything Chicago, but only the real Chicago, none of that fake stuff from the suburbs.

Sarah Nilson

Sarah is a member of both the Delta Delta Delta Sorority and Theta Tau professional engineering fraternity. She can often be found watching vine compilations instead of doing her homework, or sitting in Espresso Royal catching up on said homework.

Sese Kammo
Hometown: Rochester Hills, MI

Neuroscience

Sese is involved in the Scientists For Outreach on Addiction Research Organization, the Chaldean American Student Association, and the National Arab American Medical Association. She volunteers at the University of Michigan hospital in the neurointensive care unit and serves as a member of the Hospital Elder Life Program fundraising team. In her free time she puts on her red teddy coat and gold hoops to explore the many coffee shops around Ann Arbor. She finds creative ways to say “your uber is here” and “xo don’t text” in most, if not all social situations.

Stuart is a part of WCBN, the campus radio station, and the Michigan Electronic Music Collective, which is an electronic music group that hosts events and educates members on the art and technique of dance music. He is an avid pianist and loves to solve problems. He competes with Janani Ghandi for the loudest laugh in the Shipman Society. He also likes birds.


Helen Nguyen

School of Nursing
Minor: Global Health & Community Action and Social Change

Helen is involved in the Vietnamese Student Association, Japanese Student Association, Parkour Club, Michigan Health Aid, and sometimes Swing Dance. She loves all sorts of tea and spends any free time catching up on sleep. She attempts to look cool by penny boarding around campus and fails to whenever she falls.

Janani Gandhi

On campus, Janani is involved with the Roosevelt Institute and Kappa Omega Alpha, a professional pre-law and public policy fraternity. She enjoys knitting, stalking other people’s Spotifys, and talking about how much she loves New England.


Erin Evans
Hometown: Dexter, MI
School of Kinesiology
Movement Science and Community Action and Social Change

Erin is involved in Kinesiology Diversity Inclusion Network, Phi Epsilon Kappa Professional Kinesiology Fraternity, and Student Food Co. She also works for the Environment and Policy Laboratory through the School of Kinesiology and Michigan Recreational Sports. Outside of class, she is often found trying new Ann Arbor restaurants, watering her plants, or trying to escape the campus squirrels.


Jessie Williams
Hometown: Traverse City, MI
College of Literature, Sciences, and Arts
Program in the Environment and Communication & Media, with minors in Music and Energy Science and Policy

Jessie is part of the class of 2022, and outside of school enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, and long walks on the beach or in the forest. She is a pre-law student who is passionate about running the world with clean energy, particularly when it comes to electric cars. As a journalist, she contributes to the Grand Traverse Scene magazine and serves as an associate producer for WOLV-TV Newsfeed. She also hosts a radio show on WCBN-FM, which focuses on pop music.
