Last semester, Matisse lived in Washington, D.C. with the “Michigan in Washington” program. During her time there, she interned at Bose Public Affairs Group, a lobbying firm specializing in education and energy policy. In her free time, she attended historical events such as the Supreme Court Kavanaugh protests and took a class on American Political Journalism taught by a longtime Washington Post reporter, Carlos Lozada. Matisse is a Public Policy student interested in beginning a career in Washington and says “it was the perfect supplement to the time I’ve spent on campus.”
